Abstract

Artificial lighting was used to induce Chinese geese to lay more than once a year. These geese were subjected to four experimental periods of artificial lighting, each approximately three months in duration and separated by intervening rest periods of one month. The 22 geese receiving the artificial light treatments laid 179, 128, 216 and 363 eggs during the four experimental periods respectively, an average of 40,3 eggs per goose.
