oa Agroanimalia - The abomasal infusion of different levels of casein and its effect on nitrogen metabolism and wool growth

A semi-purified basic diet containing urea as the only source of available nitrogen was supplemented per abomasum with 44, 66, 88, 110 and 132 g casein per day. Each treamtent lasted 21 days and was imposed sequentially. The nitrogen balance, digestibility of the diet, weekly body mass and the wool growth rate were determined. The treatment effects on the sulphur content of the wool, fibre. diameter and fibre length were established.
