oa Agroanimalia - The influence of dietary energy and protein on feed consumption and growth of broiler breeder pullets
Abstract
A total of 360 White Plymouth Rock pullets was subjected to twelve dietary treatments comprising different protein and energy levels fed ad libitum from five to 22 weeks of age, in an attempt to control body mass gain to point-of-lay. Significant differences in the body masses of birds on the various treatments were observed throughout the trial period, with birds on low energy diets in almost all cases being lighter than those fed diets high in energy.
