Abstract

Plasma corticosteroid concentration was determined by competitive protein binding assay (CPB) in normal and aborter Angora goat does and foetuses. Circulating corticosteroids increased between days 30 and 50 of pregnancy in normal does and then maintained a relatively high level of nearly 10 ng/m1 plasma until the 90th day of gestation. This was followed by a progressive decline to 3 ng/ml at 120 days which was maintained up to parturition.
