Ten Landrace x Large White pigs were stunned electrically after they had been excited experimentally and ten pigs were similarly stunned when they were calm. The post mortem pH pattern, temperature, rigor, reflectance, cooking loss and percentage loose water were determined on two muscles. Reflectance values for these muscles were not significantly effected by the induced excitement.
