The choline content of the duck egg yolk prior to incubation and the day-old duckling liver content at hatching were analysed in order to determine the ""carry-over"" effect from the maternal duck diet. No ""carry-over"" effect due to feeding a high (1 586 mg/kg) or a low (582 mg/kg) choline diet was evident.
