The central frontier of Rhodesia and Mozambique is an area which lies at an elevation ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 feet. This paper is based mainly on the collection of birds and eggs made by the late P. A. Sheppard in the Portuguese Vumba during 1913 and 1914. All species he found in this area are listed together with egg clutches and breeding records.
