Abstract

The southern African species of Stiphrolamyra are reviewed. The three species previously known to occur in southern Africa (S. angularis, S. bipunctata and S. diaxantha) are redescriptionbed using newly collected material, and a further four new species are descriptionbed - S. annae (northern Cape Province of South Africa), S. hermanni (Cape Province and Orange Free State), S. schoemani (northern Cape Province) and S. vincenti (northern Cape Province and Botswana). A key to these species is given and the other three Afrotropical species (S. albibarbis, S. apicalis and S. comans) are briefly discussed.
