Abstract

The small genus Storthyngomerus is reviewed and a key presented for the identification of species. Four species are recognised: S. tridentatus (Fabricius), which is very widely distributed (known from West, Central, East and Southern Africa, as well as Madagascar); S. toroensis Oldroyd, which is closely related to tridentatus, but is known only from Uganda and the Congo; S. minor Lindner, a diminutive species recorded from the East African countries of Kenya and Tanzania; and S. potanodrilus, a new species from South Africa that is closely related to minor.
