Both were written by the same probation officer, and con-cerned a 16-year-old first offend-er convicted of stealing a dog collar valued at R38, 49. The first report was a comprehens-ive social history, and concluded with the recommendation that sen-tence be postponed in terms of section 297(1) of the Criminal Procedure Act, on various condi-tions.
