Abstract

The phenomenon of street working children is one challenge that the modern society has been battling with. As families are finding it increasingly difficult to meet the growing needs of its members, children are forced to get into the street to work or hawk as a means of supporting the family. In Nigeria, there has been the need to progressively strengthen the access of children dropping out of school or not admitted for a number of reasons to education through the establishment of literacy centres.
