The study investigated how some teacher variables such as academic qualifications, professional qualifications, teaching experience, teaching load, attendance at workshops and seminars, attitude to students, attitude to history, and, status in marking public examinations determine or predict achievement in history at the secondary school level. To do this, an eight variable model was constructed and tested in order to provide causal explanation of achievement in History. The results indicate that the 8 predictor variables accounted for 54.7% of the variation in the criterion variables.
