During the 1994 excavations at Modipe Hill several burials were located at site 1994.2, the mid slope site. These burials, numbering four, were exposed in Enclosures A and B. Two of these burials were of adults - a male and a female. Both of the adult burials were covered in dense cairn like rock features. The remaining burials were that of an infant and that of a four to six year old child. While the infant and child were simply burials without grave goods or apparent pathologies, those of the adults contained both. The skeletal material of the adult male showed numerous evidence of pre mortem injury and disease. The adult female was interred with several grave goods. No destructive analysis was performed on any skeletal materials from Modipe Hill. All burials were analysed at the site and reburied after analysis. No skeletal materials or grave goods were removed either.
