There is however a growing amount of Botswana literature being produced by individuals and institutions. These documents are being collected by various libraries and information institutions. This activity is part of bibliographic control, a library term that means the collection, preservation for posterity and making available for use of a society's published output. The responsibility for collecting Botswana's documented heritage lies mainly with the Department of National Library Service.
