Abstract

As has been frequently noted in this journal, the tax scene in South Africa is a constantly changing vista. There can be few, if any, areas of the law which have proved more prolific in generating legislative offspring than tax. Taxpayers and tax practitioners must consequently cope with the often dizzying and never-ending task of staying 'ahead of the game', in order to understand, interpret and comply with the plethora of complex new or amended rules that now epitomise our tax laws.
