Abstract

In these enlightened times when computers and videos are accepted equipment in primary schools, it is not easy to visualise the days when even the words denoting these electronic educational adjuncts were unknown. However, those who received their schooling during the 1920s did not suffer from the lack of these facilities. They managed to live useful lives and achieve success and even fame, without ever fingering a computer or possessing knowledge of DNA finger-printing or genetic engineering.
