Abstract

Some thirty years ago while going through the photographic collection of our elder son after his sudden death, I stumbled upon a minor mystery. From an early age, Michael had developed an interest in photography and in the course of time became quite expert in this art. His beloved Leica M3 was always with him wherever he went, 'just in case'. He concentrated on scenic effects and objects rather than in people, though he did make an exception with capturing his family and friends. He took particular delight in recording sunsets, sunrises, the docks and the sea in all its moods. He had an eye for the unusual and his pictures, including colour slides, provide very adequate proof of his photoperception.
