Abstract

Water hammer tests were conducted on a 13 mile long pipeline. Computed pressure variations agreed well with those recorded at the ends and at the mid-point of the pipeline. Further tests were conducted on a pipeline with a booster pump. Equations were developed which predicted the effect of the inertia of the impeller and motor.
