Abstract

The wide application of the electrical resistivity geophysical technique to hydrogeological, mining and engineering geological investigations is a convincing proof of the versatility of this method for tackling the widest range of earth science problems. A comprehensive description of the method can be found in the specialized literature. The method has been in use for the past 40 years and both qualitative and quantitative interpretation procedures have been developed. In particular the application of electrical techniques to engineering geological investigations is well documented.
