Abstract

Many South Africans take comfort in the view that crime is the vice of a handful of people. This view is inaccurate. More than a � million people actually go to jail each year in this country. It is also true that many South Africans think of crime as a very narrow range of behaviour. It is in fact not so. An enormous variety of acts make up the so-called ""Crime Problem"".
