Abstract

More and more law students in the United States are bypassing lucrative jobs with corporations to seek more socially oriented work in Government and in programs aiding the poor and the consumer. And many of those who do join law firms are pressuring their employers to re-evaluate their attitudes toward public service and the public interest. Some firms have responded by dramatically increasing their public-interest efforts or at least drastically reorganizing them.
