The aim of the study is to analyze the contradictory effects the notion of diversity generates in the teaching of Francophone literature abroad. More specifically, it is a reflection on the possibility of cultural dialogue in and around literary texts, based on the observation of an advanced class at the University of Cape Town (UCT), amongst students of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
