Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two group counselling approaches on the attitude of selected male and female adolescents toward science. One hundred and twenty (120) third year junior Secondary School Students with a negative attitude to science participated in the study. A self-report attitude questionnaire was used to collect data. ANCOVA statistics was used to test three null hypotheses. The results obtained from this study revealed the efficacy of the approaches in modifying attitude. However, boys' attitude toward science was better modified. The approaches were therefore recommended for use on Nigerian Adolescents' attitude as a means of meeting the man power needs of the nation especially in the science related careers.
