Abstract

Where would the South African consumer be without paper - all 48kg of it that he or she uses each year? Compare that to the more than 350kg a head that the British get through and the potential for local growth is clear... in the future that is. At present, most paper merchants are trying just to maintain their volumes in a dense forest of paper suppliers, mini, maxi and all sizes between. All four paper merchants approached by Graphix for comment on the state of paper used the word 'tough' to sum up the market. But everyone knows what happens when the going gets tough.
