Abstract

Rooibos, better known as Aspalathus linearis, is one of several Cape Fynbos plants that have traditionally been used in South Africa to brew tea and cure ailments. The plant has made a successful transition from a wild to a cultivated crop and is one of relatively few economically important Fynbos plants to date.
