I wasn't prepared for the full scope of SIAL 2016. It is difficult to comprehend the sheer size of the show: 7 000 exhibitors in 47 hectares of exhibition space, with more than 155 000 visitors attending. Gordon Gleimius of the department of trade and industry rightly said, 'SIAL is definitely the networking hub and global event for the food industry this year.'
