INSIGHT It is increasingly demanded of construction companies working on government contracts to be actively involved in empowering and raising the skill levels of their labour force. Labour-intensive methods, as promoted by the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), require that labourers be sourced from the local community and receive a minimum of two days training per month.
