COVER STORY Barloworld Equipment has become the first earthmoving equipment company to gain accreditation from the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) for its equipment operator training programmes, enabling learners to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. The Barloworld Equipment Operator Academy for Caterpillar (Cat) earthmoving equipment operators was launched in 2004, one year before the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) registered the national qualification for earthmoving equipment operators. The operator academy caters for all the equipment operator needs of the earthmoving sector, from the smallest Cat mini-excavator to the largest Cat off-highway mining trucks.
