In the past, it was common knowledge that retaining walls 'had' to be poured, reinforced concrete. Even though concrete retaining blocks have been on the market for decades, there are still some who think blocks (especially hollow core units) cannot do the same job as poured concrete, especially for structures more than 4m high. That's simply not the case.

Delegates also toured the brick factory at Eston to see the manufacturing process.
