Abstract

There is a developing worldwide view in many cities that watercourses and wetlands, whether natural or constructed, form an integral component of urban storm water management systems, are important for sustaining the aquatic ecology of the city, and are an essential element in restoring the urban fabric of the city by providing both recreational and socio-economic opportunities to all citizens.
