Abstract

Recent media reports signal growing fears that crimes against children with access to new forms of technologies are on the increase. South African children continue to experience a multiplicity of violations through transmission of illegal or harmful content on new forms of technology. The numbers of reported cases involving children abused or disappearing, linked allegedly with people they meet on the so-called social networks, have risen. This is often ignored as law makers endeavour to promote technological developments and/or other civil rights.
