Abstract

Remembrance Day, observed on November 11, is to recall the end of World War One in 1918. Hostilities formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in accordance with the Armistice which was signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente that day between 5:12 and 5:20 in the morning. World War One officially ended on June 28 1919 when the Treaty of Versailles was signed.
