South Africa's Constitution (Act 108 of 1996) is widely regarded as one of the most progressive and fairest in the world. It is a sad irony that most people are often only cognisant of this fact when they turn to it for protection. Following the promulgation of the new Regulations to the Immigration Act (13 of 2002), many will once again be looking to the Constitution to protect those whose only 'crime' is to want to live in this country.
