Much Asphalt’s new Gauteng Regional Laboratory was built and refitted at the company’s Benoni plant over a two-year period to improve testing and working conditions, and accommodate more advanced equipment suited to changing requirements. “New equipment includes a multitude of devices for both bitumen and asphalt performance testing,” says Joanne Muller, manager: Gauteng Regional Laboratory. “The upgrade enables our Gauteng lab to explore additional engineering and performance data to improve control over risks in asphalt design and production. It also means we can provide clients with betterquality information to make informed decisions on mix type selection for more cost-effective/ longer-lasting solutions.”
