Abstract

This issue of Innovation covers several interesting topics in library and information science and records and archival management, namely, users’ perceptions of services at the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa; factors influencing public librarians’ contribution to research and scholarly publication in KwaZulu-Natal; staff training and development challenges in Ugandan private chartered university libraries; implementation of a digitisation project at the South African National Parks; and compliance with quality assurance principles of recognition of prior learning by library and information science schools in South Africa. Thus, two of the articles relate to national organisations, a further two articles focus on universities locally and on the continent and the remaining article has public libraries as a context.
