Abstract

Integrity is one of those buzzwords and values which appears in almost every job description, value statement and project outline. Trust, honour and honesty are key elements to the concept of integrity. In the workplace, employees who act with integrity will always tell the truth, are accountable and reliable and treat co-workers, stakeholders and customers with respect (https://roubler.com/au/integrity in the workplace). It is clear that integrity is important in any organisation - but in law enforcement it is even more important. Without this basic attribute the public can never be expected to trust the police or have confidence in them. Unfortunately, we often hear about law enforcement officials who engage in corrupt activities.
