Not surprising, this Special Edition of the African Renaissance is a testament of the journal‘s commitment to reversing Africa‘s developmental quagmire going by the topics diagnosed herein. The academic discussions in this Edition speak to nuance issues that are of a fundamental necessity to the overall rebirth of Africa in terms of her development. The various contributions in this Edition touch on very salient development issues that need to be addressed for Africa to be a respected continent amongst peers. Issues in African development such as politics, underdevelopment, decolonisation, elections, public morality and accountability, political participation, violence, local governance and religion among others are discussed by contributors. These discourses came from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and this gives us confidence of robust contributions to knowledge on Africa.
