Towards the end of Jacques Derrida’s extended meditation on Nietzsche’s styles, he refers to a handwritten fragment from the unpublished manuscripts, containing the phrase ‘“I have forgotten my umbrella”’3 (note that in the original manuscript, the phrase was rendered “isolated in quotation marks”4).
