On the one hand, it provides an overview on how migrants contribute to the socio-economic growth of the host country while, on the other hand, it provides an in-depth analysis on how the South African government and others should use these migrants to fulfil the skills shortage in order to build their economy. While the study relied mostly on a literature review as the principal source of data analysis, it also applied quantitative data in order to support the information on exploring the socio-economic impact and contribution of migration. The findings indicate that although there are many ways in which migrants contribute to an economic growth of the host country, and probably the most discussed about, other factors also play a pivotal role. These include social factors.
