NEW BLOSSOM SCENTED the air and bird calls rang out above us as we made our way into one of the remnants of Hawaan forest. But it has its surprises – ropes of Hluhluwe creeper (Dalbergia armata) as thick as a child’s wrist, for instance, can spike the unwary.
