n Journal of Minimum Intervention in Dentistry - What differences exist in overall enamel thickness, mineral content and shade between permanent anterior teeth of Caucasian versus Asian populations? [November 6, 2018] - preliminary systematic literature searches

Volume 13 Number 2
  • ISSN : 1998-801X

Search result: Three studies were found.

Clinical outcomes: The result indicates that Asian anterior teeth may be of comparably median size; of similar enamel thickness as other ethnic groups and tend to have C2, C3, C5 incisal translucency patterns. No information was found on mineral content differences.

State of evidence and recommendations: The quality of the existing evidence requires further assessment.

[‘Preliminary Systematic Literature Searches’ are based on SYSTEM’s periodic systematic searches of the dental literature and provide first overviews over existing clinical evidence but are limited in the number of databases searched, as well as the assessment of precision and internal validity of results and thus do not replace the need for a full systematic review report to the topic]
