I’m not about to make predictions about the future of fresh produce. The only time I do that is once a year when I stare into my crystal ball. This week I simply want to comment on trends in our industry and what they mean to us. We operate in a highly competitive environment: retailers, market agents, wholesalers and farmers continually seek ways to improve sales or beat their competition. This is what a free market is about and it’s a healthy thing.
