Abstract

Since 1994, South Africa has acquired a significant number of dedicated environmental statutes which have the potential to alter significantly the nature of our environmental jurisprudence. Alongside this, there have been many additions to the armoury of 'weapons' available to authorities (and to interested and affected parties) to enforce environmental-related laws or to deal with environmental problems.
