Abstract

This is an impressive and comprehensive book dealing with cases and materials relating to administrative law in South Africa. The book is divided into eight chapters: Introduction to Administrative Law; The Sources of Administrative Law; Administrative Action; Lawfulness; Reasonableness; Procedural Fairness; Reasons; and Control of Administrative Action. The author points out that it is impossible to divide the cases and materials strictly between the listed topics, as there is inevitably a fair amount of overlap. He has accommodated this overlap through a combination of cross-referencing and multiple selections from single cases. This is well done and is very useful.
