During the endless night of segregation and apartheid, there were at least four works which were devoted to the judiciary and its engagement with the increasing battery of laws which reinforced racist policy and practice: C J R Dugard (1978); Hugh Corder (1984); C F Forsyth (1985); and David Dyzenhaus (1991).
