Abstract

Early and adequate eye care is paramount. <br>Bell's palsy - a diagnosis of exclusion! &lt;br&gt; 'Bell's palsy' of longer than 3 months warrants re-evaluation. <br>Diagnostic clues in facial palsy: <p>vesicles - Ramsay-Hunt syndrome <br>parotid mass - consider malignancy <br>children - TB (acute otitis media/cholesteatoma) <br>diabetic - diabetic/malignant otitis externa <br>trauma - fractured temporal bone. <p>Refer all facial palsies to an otorhinolaryngologist.
