Abstract

The etiology and diagnosis of ruptured urethra is discussed. Two methods of treatment are descriptionbed: the classical method by perineal incision and the less widely accepted method of suprapubic cystostomy without perineal incision. The advantages of the second method are stressed. Clinical notes on two cases are included.
