Abstract

The characteristics of 4 contrast media for bronchography are compared, namely, iodized oil, iodized oil with sulphadiazine, a viscous solution of diodone with methyl cellulose, and a new suspension of a diodone derivative in an isotonic solution (dionosil). The defects of the iodized oil and of the water-soluble contrast medium are analysed. A series of 28 examinations in 25 cases, employing dionosil, is reported and it is concluded that the use of this contrast medium represents a real advance in bronchography.
