Abstract

Ever since *Anne could remember, she always found herself tugging, twirling or pulling her hair. She did this so frequently that by the time she went to university, she was showing extreme hair loss and a bald patch on her head. It wasn't until recently that Anne heard about Trichotillomania (TTM) for the first time and sought out help for her condition. She says, "Until very recently I had no idea what it was or that it was a 'thing' anyone else did. After I was diagnosed I was a little relieved that it wasn't just me, and that others do it too. I've lived in bobble hats and wigs, but it got to the point of no return where the best thing to do was to shave my head."
