Abstract

New clinical evidence is now available that questions the use of 'material retention' as the current ruling criterion for the quality of placed pit and fissure sealants, says Dr Steffen Mickenautsch, Honorary Research Fellow and Project Leader and Professor Veerasamy Yengopal, Head of Department and Principal Project Researcher at the Systematic Review initiative for Evidence-based Minimum Intervention in Dentistry (SYSTEM), Department of Community Dentistry, School of Oral Health Sciences, Wits University Faculty of Health Sciences.
